The Conservatory Garden

Located in northern part of Central Park, the Conservatory Garden is a hidden gem that many tourists overlook in their rush to see the more famous attractions like the Central Park Zoo or the Bethesda Fountain.

However, those who take the time to visit this beautiful garden are rewarded with a peaceful oasis that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Conservatory Garden is divided into three distinct sections, each with its own unique charm. The first section, known as the North Garden, features a beautiful wisteria pergola and a central fountain surrounded by colorful flower beds. This area is particularly stunning in the spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, creating a magical pink canopy overhead.

The central section of the garden, known as the Italian Garden, is modeled after the classic Renaissance gardens of Europe. Visitors will be transported back in time as they stroll along the immaculate pathways, surrounded by statues, fountains, and blooming flower beds. The centerpiece of the Italian Garden is a beautiful three-tiered fountain featuring a bronze sculpture of a boy and a girl riding a dolphin.

The southernmost section of the garden, known as the South Garden, is perhaps the most peaceful of all. Here, visitors can wander through a maze of clipped hedges and quiet groves, admiring the serene beauty of the carefully tended flora. The South Garden is also home to the Garden for the Blind, a special section designed to be experienced through touch and smell, allowing visually impaired visitors to enjoy the beauty of the garden in their own unique way.
